How would this new quest be any better/different then the z-quest?
No matter how many rewards you add or how easy or hard you make the title, that doesn't change the way the actual PvP will be played.

Rewards aren't going to get PvEers to all switch over to PvP. It's a temporary "oh shiney and new" fix but is not a permanent fix that people are flocking to RA now due to the quest. If it stayed around, people would eventually get bored with it and leave.

Thats why I suggested a weekly reset.. it would at the very least keep the same ppl we are seeing now comming back weekly vs not commig back at all. We are not talking about getting pvers to switch over.....just getting them to dabble in pvp.

If they require winning, then PvEers wouldn't play them at all.
If anything, in the other formats, you'd want to make the quest requirement the absolute longest that players are willing to actually invest time into trying to do, in order to maximize the time they spend playing.

You were the one that suggested winning be a req...and for ra, ca, and to a lesser extent ha I concurr. For GvG that is the case atm so im not really going to debate it.
Making it longer simply won't work...it sounds good in theory but in practice will fail.
Simply put you can't have your cake and eat it too. If you want more ppl to pvp ( which have no where else to come from but pve) you will have to cater to them somewhat.

I can't do anything about people being unmotivated. PvP honestly just isn't for everyone - most people aren't interested in putting in the effort to get better, or having competition in their gaming at all.
In a format that genuinely depends on team coordination and skill and buildmaking, I honestly can't think of a way to make it more casual.

Well, i'm not disagreeing with the idea... The way they introduced quests is fine , but let's be honest.. Now i finished all , the only thing i might do is RA ...
HA : almost not doing anything considering you rarely ever get 3 consec due to restarts and skips.. Basically ,it's only rewarding people farming halls dead hour
GvG : I don't think adding a chest will do good.. people will only play for it and not for winning a GvG

Other than a bit of HB and CB, I've never PvP'ed, so this suggestion might not be as good as I think it is.
Anyway, it seems to me that what's needed is some sort of long-term quest that rewards regular play in each format. Sorta like what "The Waiting Game" quest was for the UW. For instance, maybe 100 wins in a given format would net you 10k gold and a stack of strongboxes. Like the others, the quests would be a one-time-only account-based thing. No idea how balanced those rewards are, it's just an example.
I can pretty much guarantee that something along those lines would draw a lot of PvE'ers, and with the time commitment involved in getting so many wins you might see a lot of them stick around regularly once they grow accustomed to the formats.
Anyway, just a thought.

If every single PvE'er in the game played GvG once a week only, the activity would still skyrocket. If more people are giving the format a chance, then maybe every week a small portion of them will enjoy it enough to start networking and playing seriously.

Yeah but its a weekly thing. Even if you're only there for the quest, I'm pretty sure there will be people being there for the quest at different times. So overall the population would go up. However I'm not too sure about the quality of the players though. : p
